placebo

http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/10/30/ep.doctors.prescribe.placebos/index.html
this story that I looked up today I was shocked about what it was about. the story focuses on doctors giving there patients placebos instead of real medication. I find this really shocking . If i had pain the money for the medication I better get something that works. when I keep on reading I found that when they do give them most of the time they are aspirin. I take aspirin every day, and when I go to doctor I don't want more of it I want to find out what is wrong with me. I think that the people that come to the hospital every week because they are a little tired or they think that there dying of some illness they found on the internet. I feel that I doctors think nothing is wrong with someone they should just send them home, and people that are really sick they should find what wrong and take care of them.

tired of the numbers

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27333285/

this story is about a suicide car bomber in Baghdad. I'm so tired of seeing the numbers on the newspapers of how many people died in car explosions and in other attacks that happen in Iraq. I want the all the troop from every country that is over in Iraq to go home as safely as possible. when I see all the numbers in the headlines of news stories every week I feel really desensitised about the lives of are troops and the Iraq citizens. I believe that life is worth a great amount, and the goverments need to figure out a solution to the problem of this Iraq war quickly. I feel the longer we stay in Iraq the worse the problem is going to be with ramdom or planed acts of violence of hard working troops, and the people of Iraq.

That One

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/08/campbell.brown.that.one/index.html

This story was about race-baiting. this is when either a candidate or the party it running for uses words or phrases to implicate racist thoughts. In the article it talks about Sen. John McCain calling Sen. Barack Obama, Barack "Hussein"Obama, but I'm going to focus on the part were they talk about the things he said in the recent presidential debate. I feel the reporter of the story was right that we as a people need to use are head when we read or hear some things.
McCain said, It was an energy bill on the floor of the senate, loaded down with goodies. Billions for the oil companies. And it was sponsored by Bush and Cheney. You know who voted for it? Might never know. That one." Some people have been in a uproar about the statement "that one." I feel it was very disrespectful, but far from racist. It would make no sense to me for McCain to say a racist statement on television. I feel that would be the worst mistake he could make in his road to the white house. I think people need to focus less on on the racial aspects of the race and look into what the issue are.

Pirates

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/africa/10/01/somalia.piracy.ap/index.html

this story is about pirates hijacking a of the Ukrainian cargo ship MV Faina  which is carrying 33 Soviet-made T-72 tanks.
I think that it's amazing that there are still pirates out there in the world. The pirates in this story are no small time criminals. I feel that in takes a lot of planning and weapons to take over a ship that size. I herd of people hijacking cruse ships and other smaller sailboats, but never ships this size. These pirates are no Captain Jacks, They are coming on to ships willing to kill people and get what they want at all cost. I feel that the United States is doing a good job of keeping the pirates on the ship and not letting them unload the heavy weapons off the ship. I'm wondering why is there better protection for ship carrying such dangerous weapon and machines. this Area of the world is were a lot of money for terrorism comes from. I think that with better security in the water that less of this kind of actions will happen.
